PRESS RELEASEThinKom Unveils Low Profile Ku-Band Antenna Technology That Makes High-Performance SOTM Affordable
ThinKom Solutions, Inc. today announced it will be introducing the world's lowest-profile antenna technology for affordable Ku-Band Satellite Communications (SATCOM) On-The-Move (SOTM) integrated antenna systems at the Satellite 2009 Exhibition (booth # 1306) being held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington DC on March 25-27, 2009. This new technology will, for the first time, enable an entire integrated OTM satellite antenna system in an ultra-low-profile (4.5-inch-high), 60-inch-long enclosure, with high-end (2+ Mbps) bidirectional data communications capability, at the lowest costs in the industry, both for the purchase price, and more importantly, up to 4X lower operating expense to the end user.
ThinKom's new SOTM antenna technology is based on its affordable Variable Inclined Continuous Transverse Stub (VICTS) phased array antenna technology. VICTS not only provides affordability, but also offers increased aperture efficiency and enhanced antenna pattern and polarization control that leads to exceptional control of and levels of radiated power spectral density, while remaining compliant with FCC and ITU requirements. Such performance benefits lead to more efficient use of satellite spectrum in support of two-way information data rates resulting in lower operating expense to the end user. In addition, improved antenna pattern and polarization control, as well as enhanced broadband operation of VICTS, combined with its lower profile, leads to better SOTM performance and availability throughout nearly all regions of the world.
ThinKom will be introducing a family of products based on its new Ku-Band satellite antenna technology in the third quarter of 2009. The first in the planned family of integrated SOTM antenna systems includes Low Noise Block Down-Converter (LNB), Block Up-Converter (BUC) with Solid-State Power Amplifier (SSPA), and Antenna Controller Unit (ACU) all within the ultra low profile (4.5 inch high) housing. This ultra low profile thinSAT300? antenna system will be capable of being internally installed in a vehicle roof or externally mounted, and will be suitable for SOTM operation at speeds of 300+ MPH. The thinSAT300 will be available with a range of internally mounted and powered BUC/SSPA options from 8 up to 40 Watts. ThinKom?s patented antenna technology will enable the thinSAT300 to be packaged in an enclosure that is under 60 inches in length and under 40 inches in width, including an exceptionally large Ku-Band transmit antenna that will offer performance across the Continental U.S. equivalent to that of a 32-to 34-inch dish antenna, while only 4.5 inches in height. The thinSAT300 will also support the full range of international Ku-Band frequencies, and will be designed to work with a wide assortment of modems and, depending on the operating conditions, will be able to support two-way data rates of up to > 10 Mbps.
ThinKom's personnel are available via its website (www.thinkom.com), and at its Satellite 2009 booth to answer technical questions and to discuss ordering, marketing, and partnering business arrangements, for both domestic and international sales opportunities.

PRESS RELEASEAffordable Megabit-Class VSAT Connectivity is Now Truly Man Portable
ThinKom Solutions, Inc will be introducing and exhibiting its thinPACKTM X-Band Man Portable Satellite Communications (SATCOM) antenna at the Satellite 2009 Exhibition (booth # 1306) being held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington DC on March 25-27, 2009. ThinKom's thinPACK antenna technology will, for the first time, enable VSAT (X, Ku, Ka) satellite high-end (1-2+ Mbps) bidirectional data communications capability with man portability similar to BGAN, however, thinPACK offers significantly higher data rates than BGAN, plus up to 10X lower operating expense than BGAN per Mbps.
ThinKom's thinPACK antennas are based on its affordable Continuous Transverse Stub (CTS) flat panel antenna technology. CTS not only provides affordability, but also offers increased aperture efficiency and enhanced antenna pattern and polarization control. Such performance benefits lead to more efficient use of satellite spectrum resulting in lower operating expense to the end user. Further, these performance benefits allow smaller (11" X 16" X 2") single panel antennas with two-way date rates equivalent to 18" diameter dish antennas and dual panel antennas (22" X 16" X 2", open, and 11" X 16" X 4.5", stowed) equivalent to 24? diameter dish antennas. These small, compact, tough CTS antennas are light weight (6 lb single panel & 12.5 lb dual panel for rucksack portability) plus can be set up and connected to a satellite network in < 5 minutes.
The thinPACK X-Band units are in production with deliveries starting early in 2nd Quarter of 2009. The thinPACK Ku-Band units will be in production by 2nd Quarter of 2009, with deliveries starting early in 3rd Quarter of 2009. The Ka-Band thinPACK antennas are expected to be in production by the 4th Quarter of 2009.
ThinKom's personnel are available via its website (www.thinkom.com), and at its Satellite 2009 booth to answer technical questions and to discuss ordering, marketing, and partnering business arrangements, for both domestic commercial and international sales opportunities.

About Entrepreneur's Hot 500 (except from www.entrepreneur.com)
The Hot 500 rankings are compiled with the help of the Corporate Research Board, a research organization. Entrepreneur and CRB started with CRB's database of more than 10 million U.S. businesses and considered only those businesses that met the following criteria:
- Must have been founded no earlier than 1998 and no later than 2002
- Company sales in 2002 must be $1 million or greater; 2006 sales must not exceed $1 billion
- Must have positive job growth between 2002 and 2006
- Must have a minimum levels of sales growth or a sales growth quantifier of 1 or higher between 2002 and 2006; the growth quantifier is a measurement that combines percentage and absolute growth.
To be eligible, the founder must be actively involved in the company, the company cannot be a spinoff or a division of a larger company, and the company sales for 2006 must be at least $1 million. From this list, the Hot 500 was selected.
