Finally, if multi-octave bandwidth is required, ThinKom is developing a very compact omni-directional antenna capable of operating from VHF through C-Band, which in later embodiments will also have the ability to switch electronically from an omni-beam, to directional. Among other benefits, this technology will allow the user to scan omni-directionally across multiple bands for a desired signal, then switch to a directional beam at that frequency for high gain operation.
