Terrestrial Signal Integration

For improved multi-band terrestrial connectivity under highly mobile conditions, ThinKom is currently developing an omni-directional, 2-way antenna that is very compact in size and height, that can extend down into very low frequencies (below 6GHz) when required, then instantly switch to a directional beam-steered antenna. This technology allows the user to scan omni-directionally across multiple bands for its target signal, then switch to a directional beam at the target frequency for high gain applications. Omni-directional versions of this antenna can route cellular networks calls, satellite radio, GPS, and more through one collective antenna, creating a data ³intranet" within the vehicle. A full 2-way omni+directional antenna can do all the above, plus act as a hop-scotch network for information across other similarly-enabled vehicles on the road to relay information- all while on the move.
